So what does "serviced" mean when you buy a watch on eBay?

Most of the time I guessing it's something like this example...

::facepalm1::

Painful to watch for anyone who actually appreciates watches I'm sure.

Urk is the first word that comes to mind...

"Serviced" for means "it keeps time when it's on my wrist for a minute" on fleaBay...

Based on what you have taught me... “serviced” is just words.

Is this a demonstration of the infamous "swish and dip" method?

The reasonably hopeful, best case scenario, is, in my view, for a watch to have been serviced in such a way that no harm was done, and so that it might be used without sustaining damage.

Isn't lighter fluid the primary tool in an Omega service center?

I am disturbed by the casual connection that was made on this thread that serviced Ebay watches = "swish and lube" job

No it’s not serviced and shouldn’t be claimed as such but better that than throw it in the garbage or let it fester in a drawer forever...

No. No, everyone knows parafin is the preferred degreaser. Soak in parafin to degrease and debraid before dipping into diesel oil to refill all those little oil reservoirs we call "jewels" .

Wait until he discovers my bike chain degreaser. That will do miracles with any high end watch

Serviced? Typically the "service" part of the word means "service" and the 'd' at the end stands for "due."
