Let's see those Minervas! I've had it in the back of my head for awhile that we need a dedicated Minerva thread and was just inspired by another thread. I have a special place in my heart for Minerva because I received this one as a gift early on and it sent me down the rabbit hole of mechanical watches. They seem to be uncommon out in the wild so anyone who has one post it here!

Mine is a Valjoux 88 (72C with the moonphase added). Rumor has it they found some NOS movements and made these in the 80s-90s. Not much other info around on mine I'm afraid. My movement is signed by Record which is strange and unfortunate. Oh well. I may start another thread at some point because in doing research I’ve found other Minervas with unsigned or cross signed movements.

Anyway, let the pictures begin!

I'll play, in the shadow of the much more common valjoux 72, a Valjoux 71......

That is exquisite. I’m going to start looking now!

This Minerva "Phythagore" featuring a Cal. 48 dates from circa 1999. I particularly love the vintage vibe of the 34mm case and bullseye layout of the Salmon dial.

Glad to see this thread revived! Makes me want to start hunting vintage Minervas. Maybe I’ll wind mine up and wear tomorrow.

Wearing this one while I enjoy my coffee on a lazy Sunday. Any other Minervas hiding out there?
