My non humming one with a white face posted above is on the bay. It needs work though so my price may be silly 馃え I'd be wearing it if it was humming.

May not be so expensive to get it going, http://electric-watches.co.uk/

Thank you for the link and I always enjoy your watch photography! I currently have too many projects on my plate and I need to let go of a few watches. Also the second hand spins around as I adjust the time and that does not bode well.

I think he is looking for the so called "cone" model. I looked for your watch but could not find it? Could you send a link to the ebay auction ?

Cannon pinion too tight maybe - hopefully it wasn't adjusted backwards...

I would prefer the"cone " version and for once I am trying to be patient and get the best possible condition for the money. So many cool watches on this thread I would love to own.

It's a 188.002, the dial is a radial configuration, the case is a U.S. made star one and the movement is simply engrave with the number 12 and no serial number.

There were 12-18 radial dial/star made speedsonics delivered to NASA in 1976 as part of the Alaska series of watches alongside 16 examples 11003 with 1040 and 1045 automatics, which later became the omega Fifa watch. They all passed the tests but NASA stayed with the traditional moonwatch ordering 54 (I believe) with radial dials

Very cool info!

The 11003 was also sold as a Heuer Cortina ref 510.513 cal 5100 and Lemania ref 11003(!). The Lemania with a cal 5012.

I just picked this one up (mostly for the bracelet that was attached to it), popped a battery in and off it hums. I find the dial to be a little dark - it's a dark grey with black printing. It doesn't look l like a redial up close, but I haven't focused on these models. Has anyone ever seen a dial like this?

Up to recently hummers have not been fully appreciated. Redialing them have not been a real issue as it held no gain money wise.

Agreed. I think younger collectors with less prejudice will embrace these marvellous humming bees!
