Thank you! I am happy to introduce you to Certina here in this nice forum.
Ive been collecting vintage watches for a while, mainly Omega but also some nice Certinas. Ive got a question for you actually.
I have a Certina Chronolympic (as pictured in the first post in this thread) and have a original bracelet. What I dont have is the kind of endlinks shown in your last picture. Do you know where I can get them?
Ive been searching the net for a while but they seem impossible to find. Now I just have to use a leather strap.
Here's a shot of five of my six DS (the sixth is a project watch...) :
There is a lot of diversity here, IMO. I currently have DS' with four different case types and five different movements. All of them are superbly well built, extremely wearable and offer some intriguing and well thought out ideas, such as the two piece crown and rubber movement ring, both contributing to the excellent shock resistance. 200 meters of WR, too.
I’ve shown this one before, but Ikm a sucker for such an invitation. This one was bought for $2.00 (she was asking 50 cents), at a farm yard sale. It had been a farmer’s watch, and showed it. As you see it, stripped brass case re-chromed, dial refinished, crown, crystal, rotor post, mainspring, recondition. All in, about $200.00 invested, not counting my labour. Some might question spending that much on a worn out orphan watch. But I like the watch, and otherwise, I likely would have p_ _ _ _ d away that much money and ended up with nothing to show for it.
