··Ash @ ΩFWe've decided omegaforums.net needs a bit more muscle behind it to let us continue to grow our userbase while increasing performance, so we've provisioned some new server hardware, that is a pretty gigantic step up from what we're on currently. The new setup will be running newer software too, so we're able to dial it in and tune it a lot more tightly than the current setup.
The combination of the fastest SSD disks on the market in RAID 10, and latest generation of Ivy Bridge Xeon along with 8 times the RAM should really kick things along quite nicely, and we're at the point of testing the new machine prior to the changeover.
We will have probably around 30 minutes downtime when we finally get to the move, but we'll give you notice in advance through this thread, and put up a maintenance page for the duration.
