IIRC, your boutique is in the Bahamas. Don't know if Trump's Tariffs has any impact to your prices, I'd guess maybe not.

But as a US buyer, I'm afraid these new entries will most likely carry the Tariff increases within their pricing. Even the old price for the last Senna quartz F1 was more than I was willing to pay (for a quartz). Any insights into the Tariff aspect?
My local boutique got all the Solargraphs for most of the rest of the year into the store in July so they could avoid the tariffs. I'd bet there's other models in there we don't know about. Like, my "McLaren" Solargraph is bought and paid for and just sitting in the store! I just cant get it until its been released lol

We are closely monitoring the tariff but everyone is still unsure of the exact implications as our watches are shipped to USA first but if I were to take a guess I think the pricing structure would be similar to pre COVID when most islands like Bahamas sold watches even Rolex, 10-15% below MSRP and no taxes. So the Brands raise the prices for parity on paper but places outside USA can discount again...my wild guess

The Tariff was a great boost for Tag/LVMH as most AD bought additional shipment ahead of the 39% tariff... We did too , that's how uncertain everyone in the industry are especially since luxury watches in the whole seem to be in a slump

Never gonna happen. Was just going to say it probably means there's a glassbox Carrera with Senna's name on it or a F1 Chrono....
Agree, chances are slim to none. But one can hope.

TH always specifically highlight his S/EL S25.706C. Which for me does nothing to stimulate a desire for a Carrera or F1 Chronograph, as they look nothing like his S/EL.

Let me put it another way.

The Senna S/EL campaigns feel pointless without a new Link to promote. It's like if TAG Heuer were to constantly run McQueen's image, highlighting his Monaco, and then come out with a McQueen branded Carrera Skeleton. There's no meaning or connection for me.

Please don't give them any ideas, @Mspeedster! 😆::rimshot::

Well they already tried photoshopping the Cal12 onto SMQs wrist...

But yes I agree. What is the purpose of promoting a watch they no longer make anything remotely close to? 🤔

Perhaps it's simply for brand image, to proudly boast about its history, and the unique connection with the greatest Formula 1 driver in history. Although these are models no longer sold, Ayrton primarily used the S/el and 6000. Those of us who lived through that era already know and remember this, but for a very young audience (who may have discovered Senna thanks to Netflix...), it's probably new information.

There have been Senna editions almost every year for about ten years, so it doesn't seem to be to promote a specific new Senna edition.

I bet TAG Heuer really wish Senna had worn a Formula 1 regularly, would make things so much easier. It's kinda funny that Senna's era coincides with them making a whole load of watches they no longer make and not making the Carrera.

The Link would be the descendant of the S/el (at least by bracelet design), but in the current Link range (not related to motorsports) there is not even a chronograph… TH have preferred to use the Link bracelet in Senna editions of the Formula 1 and Carrera, instead of making a Link Senna edition (which should be a chronograph or ana-digi, and preferably with a mixed leather strap)

Yes, certainly this is the main reason why they keep showcasing Senna. The man is a legend, and they should be proud of their joint heritage!

If it weren't for the 2024 LVMH Watch Week interview of Julien Tornare (then CEO) by Wei Koh, I wouldn't keep wondering about a new watch that more closely resembled the model Senna wore.

I just rewatched it again, the discussion was quite specific. Wei Koh, talking about Senna's S/EL, although he called it a "Link", while showing a picture of the S25.706C and saying: "how cool that watch is". Julien responding by saying "yes, that watch is very particular, so believe me we're going to take care of that".

I've time marked to the video to start where these comments are made:

What's ironic is the original F1 was a hot seller from the get-go, the S/EL was not. The 1997 TAG Heuer book Mastering Time states that the S/EL makes up 40% of the company's turnover (mid-90s), but it was snubbed by the public for two years when released in 1987. Which means that S/EL sales started to take off around 1989, exactly the year when Ayrton Senna started wearing his. So, I have little doubt that people seeing the watch on Senna's wrist made a big impact to their sales.

I was always drawn to the calibre 17 Links, they could have easily made a leather strap, Senna signature somewhere and it could have worked for a modern take of the S/el... In hand the link always felt more premium than the Carreras

Wei Koh then goes on to ask about the original Formula 1 and Julien says: "I could almost give you the exact same answer". Which we now know turned out to be the 2024 KITH Heuer Formula 1 collab and the 2025 Formula 1 Solargraph. In that context, it very much seemed like reissues were planned for both.

But what happened to the S/EL (Link)? I can't believe Julien was referring the uber expensive Senna Carrea Skeleton Tourbillon in that interview, it just doesn't fit the conversation. Either the S/EL (Link) revival is delayed or perhaps they scrapped the project, just my theory.
