Seiko Pouge 6139-6002 -74 Genuine? - looking for a -73

Hello

Could you please help me with this Pouge 1974
what is original and not?

It is not working very well, very hard to set time and date/day is not moveing ok, but it tells time (i think)

Is the Seiko bracelet genuine from the 70s? do you think?

My plan was to buy it for the bracelet and then find a 1973 and move the bracelet to that (the bracelet is long enough for me) i bought it cheap due to the service need.

One of the endlinks is damaged, can it be fixed? (look at picture)

If you have a 1973 for sale please let me know

The markings on the subdial suggest it is aftermarket dial. Better focus photos would help

Hard to tell can you show inside of clasp where it says stainless steel Japan Z writing.

Movement is correct 6139B
Case looks original, crown and pushers seem orig but hard to tell pushers seem to have even wear for age
Bracelet looks orig has some wear doesn’t appear new which AM bracelets often do
I don’t see damage to endlinks maybe just needs adjustment?

also talked to the one i bought it from, and he said it is a aftermarket dial, but then i am more suspicious, "what else might be changed"

I think the bracelet is ok. I wouldn’t worry about it to be honest. It looks good and if it fits then enjoy it. I like this bracelet they are kinda light and jangly to me it’s a good feel. The solid steel Modern bracelets are too heavy for me.
You have correct movement I would consider a service you may end up with a nice functional daily wearer. Even with AM dial it is clean and looks good, better to look at that rather than just be covered in wabi with black indices and hands IMO. Then take your time and find another one you like with orig dial etc. Lots out there take your time enjoy the hunt.

I'm not up on all the current nicknames. Is "Pouge" the name for a "Pogue" without the 70m marking?

FWIW: this isn't a "true Pogue," which is a -6005. The dial's aftermarket, and the bracelet looks fake to me as well. Given those two facts, I'd wonder what of the watch is original; I'd leave it alone. While True Pogues in great condition remain well into 4 figures, a good Pogue (a yellow-dialed -600X) can be had for well under $1k, correct parts included.

Dail is aftermarket and a cheap one, chapter ring has been relumed at the 12 o' clock triangle, bracelet is a made up from parts the clasp is incorrect, the whole watch has been made up from parts I would say. I have bought and sold many of these over the years... The market is flooded with many poor examples these days and it has put buyers off, I sold my last True Pogue for £2850 in 2021.

Yellow Pogue, Silver Pogue, Blue Pogue aka Cevert, True Pogue. That pretty much covers it.

OP watch: Outer bezel is aftermarket as well. I’d see if I could return it before putting more money into it. If not, still a fun watch to wear and not worry about.

I didn't pay much, but sad that it is not working well

But also i need to think about if it is worth as a "fun watch" and pay 4-figures is not what i can do right now

what do you think it is worth as is? it is working and chrono is working but day/date is not working

True Pogue is the American 17J import that was also a Water Resist version (eg, first came Proof, then Resist, then nothing on the dial.) Dash 6005 was for American market (hence 17J on Dial).

These 6139 Seiko must have been very popular as there are a lot of them. Just not that many decent originals or Resist ones.

A good service is between 500 and 700 usd so worth starting with a good example. Ashton Tracy in Canada is a Seiko specialist.

This has an Uncle Seiko bracelet.

Unfortunately, the only thing that seems to be original on this watch is IMO the case parts (minus bezel) and movement. The bracelet could be a mish mash of original and AM parts, but I vote completely AM. There are aftermarket folded link bracelets (similar to the original) being produced, and my vote would be that this is one of them.

Sadly I tend to agree.
Bracelet is entirely aftermarket imho.
