Yes, but only a tiny fraction of 62mas examples were radioactive. They came from the Daini factory and were meant for export. It was the 60s not the 50s. Actually, a number of Seiko models from the 60s had this same radioactive lume, and the lume often has a distinctive brown color. There is a thread on WristSushi about these watches.

Thank you very much. This definitely enlighten me. I like 62mas, but avoid the original ones because of the Radium. So, SJE093 is my top target. But now, I think I’m going to hunt for the original one instead.
It's actually quite difficult to find a radium 62mas. I would like to add one to my collection, and I have been looking several years for a good one. The vast majority of 62mas examples are not radioactive at all, not even tritium. Just look for green lume.
There appears to be a radium 62MAS for sale at Blair Watch Project currently...
Thanks for posting. The lume looks as I would expect and presumably the seller has confirmed the Daini origin, although no photos of the inside are shown. That particular example is not what I'm looking for, unfortunately.
The more I hunt for a good example of a 6150-8000, the more I realize how rare some of these are.. especially when compared to a vintage Rolex or even Soeedmaster.
I see some in decent shape on Chrono24 in the $1800-$2000 range.
Edit: I looked again, and actually most of those have some issues with discoloration around the lume plots.
I would snatch it up but some of the radiation readings from these things on the earlier referenced thread were quite alarming
There’s a 1968 proof/proof on eBay right now with what I presume is the early radium lume, very interesting. I would snatch it up but some of the radiation readings from these things on the earlier referenced thread were quite alarming:

Hi all,
I am new to this forum about the 6105-8000 Seiko.
I was in a local 2nd hand shop about three weeks ago
waiting for my other half. I saw this box of old watches
so had a look through and saw this diver's watch which
was still working. I asked the lady at the counter how much,
and she said £ 2.00 so I purchased the watch. When I got
home I researched the watch and it turned out to be a 6105-8000.
It has green lume's and a seven numbered serial number starting
with 97. I have been wearing it most days and it keeps ok time.
I do not know the service history. I now realise i am very lucky to
have a watch like this with out even knowing about this watch.
Martin.
I can't tell if I think that's radium lume or a relume. Does anyone think it looks too clean for old radium? The color of the red dot on the second hand does look good to me - it looks just faded enough.
That said, it is still tempting for the price. It's been hard to find decent examples of these for under $2K.
That is plausibly a Daini model. Or it could be relumed. One would want to see the inside caseback to be certain.
