Talked to G.R.A.M. at the Moonwatch Only 2019 edition presentation and learned Seamaster Only will cover all the tool-versions of SeaMaster...
Kudos to both authors for taking on such a huge project !

Status report?

On behalf of the SMO team @lowen , @speedy4ever , @Dash1 and myself , I would like to give you a short update on the book project. First of all, thanks to you all for trying to be patient and sorry for the late reply in this thread.

The team is at full throttle and making good progress. Earlier this month for instance we all gathered in Bienne for a couple of days and had very good talks with the Omega heritage team alongside many hours of interesting research in the archieves 📖

Anyway, we can’t tell you much more at the given time, other than the plan still is to publish the book next year. We have promised ourself, that the priority is to make it as good as we can, even if it takes a bit longer. Again, thanks for your patience and support. And we will get back with more details when we can.

Happy new year and all the best wishes of a 2020 full of new old watches 😀

One year on. Is this book still happening or is the project cancelled?

I don’t wanna speak for the authors but a year doesn’t seem like much time to write a text book.

This comment is a little rough and a bit jaded. I rate it a 7.5. But because of the overall snarkiness I am awarding it 1.5 more points for an overall rating of 9.0.

Honestly, these guys have worked very long for quite a while producing content that is very beneficial to many people. And I am personally okay with their new business, although I am admittedly not a target customer. But for me the bonus points added on to what are otherwise well-thought evaluations is off-putting and is at the expense of credibility. I hope they do keep producing books. I've owned all of the MO books and am waiting on the chronometer book. Their books are great educational tools and for me are worth the price.

It's high time we updated you on progress. After a very fruitful research trip to Omega HQ in December 2019 we planned a return visit in the spring of 2020. However this had to be cancelled due to (yup - you guessed it) C19 and it looks like we shall have to wait a while longer until that second research trip can take place. Of course, we have not been idle and have continued to make good progress on the book, working from home. Our intention now is to publish sometime in the coming year.
Thank you for your patience and here's to a much improved 2021!

Great update. I'm definitely interested and hope 2021 is more fruitful than 2020.
