Rolex tube splines: new better than old?

I have a Day-Date crown, #24-600. Apparently, it can take the older style 24-6000, with splines on the bottom that need to be broached out, or the later 24-6020, with splines on top, no broaching required.

Any arguments for using one vs. the other? Thanks.

Only that using the latter saves you one step - other than that, there's no real difference.
