Rolex 6298 - first post

Hi all,

This is my first post!
I wanted to share my relatively obscure rolex 6298, 36mm. Bubbleback.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the reference, information on them seems to be all over the shop, from calling them Ovettones to pre explorer ect.

Would love to know more about the model. This one’s from 1953

Yes ovettone and pre explorer is basically correct. Very nice reference, great size and takes 20 mm bracelet. Historically following right after the 6098 reference that Hilary took to Everest. Here is mine.
