Replacing chronograph pushers: how interchangeable are they?

I will have a look at my stuff. Good that you have the stem. The spring, if missing, can be obtained from a big diameter springbar. If you find a silver cap, I'd take off the second cap as well and have both gold plated in the same colour by a good jeweller.

Thanks. Those are the friction fit and I need screw in, but I see similar screwin kits. Based on the feedback, i believe the generic screwin kits will fit. Worth a try for 50 bucks.

If you are in luck and can tweak things a bit, you might keep your tubes ( pusher base ) and just replace the caps plus stems, because they might have these mini clips to secure the stem to the underside of the existing/new tube.

Use caution when using these Chinese made chronograph pushers. Notice they are sold by the Chinese export website AliExpress. Try to find an an original Swiss pusher cap or assembly, as difficult as that might be. It is a great watch and worth holding out for.

I'd rather see the owner fix his chrono and wear and enjoy it soon and then take his time to find originals if he desires so. To leave it unfinished for years does not make sense at all. There is always a high horse and then there are practical solutions for the time being.

I have unfinished projects that have sat in the drawer for decades. Mostly due to a total burnout a couple of decades back. Not sure why I run hot and cold on things. The interest never completely goes away. Usually other things simply have more pizazz. Or the solutions become more complex.

Now I am thinking the wanting is more exiting than the having.

Update: the service center returned my watch. They didn't replace the cap but said they found one at the last minute and sent the part. If it will fit, i can get it plated. I have a couple watchmakers who might be willing to tackle it. Feeling good. Thanks for you support and encouragement. I'm taking the Sheepdoll approach and never give up.

So...., Unscrew the stainless cap and try if it clears your tube/base teeth.... All thumps and Paws crossed.

Dropped it off with Roland at RHM who will be doing a service and will make a new pusher (not cheap.) Looking at 6 to 10 months due to backlog.

One of the watchmakers showed us how to make dials.
