Refurbishing an older TAG Heuer chronograph

looking at purchasing an early 2000 model of 2000 series professional, a CN1110 and a WK model without chono (obviously). Has anyone had experience with a refurbishing, e.g., polish case and bracelet, replacement of crystal and/or bezel? either with Tag or with indpendent shop? thanks for any input you can provide.
