hello. im planning to get an omega 18K tresor / calatrava with small seconds (cal 266 or similar), metal indeces and a rare honeycomb dial.
what would be the reasonable price tag for those, from mint with extract of the archives and original buckle to used (but not abused)?
attached are pictures of watches with the exact design i am after (already had a scammer pushing me his refinished dial watch, he gets his piece back, lesson learnt, ignore if there are refinished dials in the pics, those are just for reference).
the problem is that i am very specific, and do want the exact indexes to numerals location-ratio, exact dial (honeycomb) and exact subseconds (little lines, no crosshair) so i have little to no opertunities at the moment (there are a lot of smooth dials, but i want to be a honeycomb). i don't really care about the case as long as it is 18K (but prefer rose gold).
knowing the price range before the hunt would help.
thanks!

All the watches you show have been redialled.

Probably 90% of the watches like you want from the 1950’s have been redialled. Omega’s original dial lacquer was poor, the cases had little to no water resistance and people want clean, white dials. So this is what you get.

Anything truly original is going to have yellowed dials and patina.

If you find one truly original in good condition, be prepared to pay upwards of $2,000 or more, given price of gold. More with a guilloche dial.

Here’s a similar watch in steel being sold by a dealer here. They are asking $2,000.

There are no more Omega Extract of Archives being issued. Some people there got caught with their hands in the cookie jar and Omega cut them off.

BTW, it grates my nerves for you to call this a “Calatrava”. It is not. “Tresor” is correct for an Omega. Calatrava is a Patek Philippe.

Amen on 'Calatrava', that's a Patek Philippe term, and even today PP is abusing the term for their current watches.

The best way for you to get a sense of valuation is to do research using recent auction sales. And as you hunt, keep track of any auctions and keep a spreadsheet.
