Problem adding Google account to E4 Connected with Wear OS 3

After doing the wear os 3 update everything seemed to go ok until the point where you add a google account to access play store. Follow the instructions to generate QR code with camera enter account details and I get the message “something went wrong” which is super helpful from google.

I have tried factory reset on watch, remove tag Heuer app from iphone, reset google account password, turned off multi factor on google account. Removed data from google account web search history signed out of unused google sessions. Looked through all the data in my google account via account page nothing in there about wear os data otherwise I would have deleted.

all other features on watch work fine apart from anything that relies on google account: play store etc.

Anyone got any tips to get this working again , getting to end of my tether with it. I do suspect it’s my google account. I’m going to create a new account for test but I do t want to use this permantely

thanks for any info

David

Also having the same issue. Using iPhone14. Keep getting the error message "failed to copy account to your watch."

I’m having the same issue and it’s driving me crazy. Have tried everything! I’ve got 3 different email addresses and none of them work. All get the same message “failed to copy account to your watch”

Same here. Opened a ticket with TAG customer support, still waiting for an answer. David, as your post is fron 2023, did you find a solution ?

New Tag Connected owner here and having exactly the same issue. This is incredibly disappointing. I really love the watch. Will go and see the store I purchased from next week and see if they know what the fix is. I’m assuming no one else here has been able to solve the issue? Thanks.

TAG Heuer Support asked me to check
1. Access rights of Connected app to google account
2. Delete Connected app data, de- and re-install Connected app on iPhone
3. Complete reset connected watch

Result: none.

Waiting for further TAG support

Thanks, I've just sent a support email, and directed them to read this forum as it is not an isolated issue. Will see what comes back and advise.

After opening a support ticket, the following reply from support worked using my iPhone:

On your iPhone:
Please open Settings> General>Transfer or Reset iPhone> Reset> Reset Network Settings. Which will not erase data but only reset settings like removing the background. Then reattempt pairing using the information below.

1.) Open the TAG Heuer Connected App
2.) Tap the setting tab bottom right-hand corner
3.) Tap "Add Google" account with settings
4.) Follow prompts

I did the above procedure of adding my Google account before reconnecting my iPhone to my WiFi.

Finally! Thanks very much wrhodes. Now I need to spend some time figuring out what I can do with Google. Calender alerts would be very nice.
I like this forum already.

I am having the same issue but when I go into the settings tab bottom right corner i can’t find the ‘add Google’ or is this a function that comes up after doing a reset network setting. As i just wanted to check it before i actually reset the network settings
