The only thing is that the last digit of the serial is 4 while it is recorded on the warranty that it is 0. Could the B&P still be original and possibly just a mistake from the AD?

Entirely possible, my 1680 sub has a full box and papers set from a day date.

What did they store it in, a sandbox? Damn, even my beach watch doesn't get that filthy!

Very cool on the box & papers. Jesse can do a real number on that watch and make it look practically new.

Back in the day when most watches were retailed in jewelry stores boxes and paperwork
were not nearly as carefully controlled as today.
