As mentioned, call C24 ASAP they will not release the funds to the seller. I have done this before and they’re great in resolving the issue.

He is a private seller ..

i bought almost 50x at Chrono24. My two bad experiences were with private sellers. Not counterfeit issues though but defects. The one from Turkey was worse. Didnt even make amends. At least the one from UK shared in the service costs. Because of the importation costs, it didnt make sense to return. So just had them fixed.

But also had great experiences with some private sellers. One from Singapore even flew to Manila to deliver the watch to me in person. One from Australia sent it to my brother in Perth even if it was not my Chrono24 address.

Oh boy. Anyway, as was stated before, I’m certain you won’t lose your money here. C24 customer service is absolutely appropriate for the premium products that are sold on their platform, they can hold the funds until the issue is resolved. And quite frankly, it doesn’t look like it’ll be hard to prove that this is not the real deal... 😉

That sucks. I hope you can get your money back. Where was the seller’s country of origin?

I hope chrono resolves the problem. As long as it's on the escrow account there's a good chance you will get your money back. There could be a problem if the seller disputes the claim and refuses to take the watch back. Not sure what chrono will do then.

I already had an issue with ch24, solved by the hotline. The watch was badly described, I sent it back 5d later, and was refunded by ch24.
Ch24 is more expensive, but sometimes it helps ...!
I'm confident for your case.

I am sympathetic to the OP, but as I have mentioned previously it is outrageous that Chrono24 allows "private" sellers, and I refuse to use their platform for that reason alone. There is absolutely no reason that an individual seller should need to remain anonymous unless they have something to hide.

I am not suggesting that all such sellers on that platform are crooks - of course there are honest ones. But they should all be required to publicly display their names, so that prospective buyers can at least recognize that they are not attempting to hide.

Very disappointing to read. Both for the OP situation and the fact that this is going on at chrono.

I understand what you're saying. But there's also the issue of safety. If you display your name chances are big you will get robbed at your house in front of your kids and wife. So I'm not in favor of displaying your name. I think it would be better if chrono would work with a review system. Just like ebay, etc.

By the way, here on OF most are anonymous as well.

If you’re buying from somebody on OF and the seller refuses to disclose his name and address, chances are good for you to be disappointed, sooner or later. 😉

Members selling on forums are only anonymous in terms of their screen names typically not being their real names. They have, however, accumulated records of posts, sales, and feedback, from which prospective buyers can make informed judgments. I do agree, though, that a review system would be a big step forward for Chrono24.

To all,
I have bought many watches really cheap and they were all original and there was no problem. It’s not a matter of price really that should put you off but mainly the seller. It doesn’t matter if he is anonymous or not or if he comes form specific countries . This seller was not anonymous and he is from France .
Also it’s not chrono24 to blame. I would never lose my money . I would see that the watch is a replica as soon as it arrived. The only thing I would have lost is time.
Fortunately I blocked the payment before it arrived to Chrono24’s bank so everything is good.
Finally I would like to advise everyone to ask some questions the seller and always take your time before you pay, no matter how much worried you may feel on the possibility of losing a bargain...

Last year a number of fake TH's came on the market and were extremely good fakes. Actually much better than this one was, so for me personally, it also has to do with the brand in question, as some seem to have been hit with much better fakes than others.

That’s true.
Also it always a matter of how “good” you know the watch you are buying. This was my first tag heuer and I am not experienced at all to this brand. I only know omegas ...

I bought the exact same watch, same numbers on the back, paid $200 dollars, I knew it was a replica but I liked the watch, I’ll never be able to afford the real one, I did my research first, NO MONACO CALIBRE 12 HAVE A CLOSED SOLID BACK. But, like I said, I liked it, I bought. I hope you get your money back, it’s a lot for a replica.
