Password change question

It has been a while since I have visited this forum. I forgot my password and the forum sent me a temporary password. The temporary password will not allow me to update to a new password. Error message states the temporary password was not my current password. Should I request a new temporary password?

Holy crap!
Exactly the same as mine!
What are the chances of two people on the planet having exactly the same password?
It's a bit hard to remember lots of different passwords so I use it on all my sites except for my banking password, where I add a special character to the end.

Trying to remember all of my complex passwords is the worst part of living on the internet these days.

Here is an old Dilbert cartoon on the topic.

Sergio, I also use to have that password. What a coincidence!

That is the forum master password, however it does not work without submitting the master code simultaneously. The master code consists of the birthdays of all the mods in succession.

Good luck 😁

Me too! You’d think that when we spent $50 on Etsy for a hand-made password, that’d we would each get a unique one. I’ll be asking for a refund 🤬

Ok, based on all these responses and understanding my lack of originality I have changed it to: qwyrbfj2844;😡&&@Omega

Now you can all rot in hell trying to break into my account. ( smartasses!)

So...

complex password for the things that are massively important. Gmail, banking etc.

Change every 6 months.

another one for anything that has mild implications. Amazon, web stores etc. change only if it shows on amipwned.

Generic one for things that don’t matter like forums. Who cares.

Now all you need to remember is three passwords.
