Case all cleaned and finish restored.

Pressed in the new crystal.

And then crystal bezel and top bezel.

All done, now to case it up.

It took a while to finish the power reserve test after a manual wind.
I got 7½ turns from flat until the bridle slipped which is about right for this caliber.

The auto wind assembly was then fitted ready for a final test.

And here we are, doing the rounds for a few hours.

Whoops!

Forgot to close off on this one.

Here is a snap from the results document.

And a little video so the owner can see his baby is doing just fine 😉.

I hope the music is acceptable for @rob#1

Excellent, well done 👍, though you could have used any old music, you didn’t have to record yourself playing the piano 😉😁

Wonderful... loved the videos.
Quick question, I too have a 6306-7001 as well and the previous owner also swapped the original crystal for a domed sapphire.
You mentioned removing the AR coating, what do you recommend I use to remove coating or is it best to replace sapphire crystal with original?
Thanks

I polished both sides of the crystal with diamond paste (0.5µ) but the crystal still had a tinge to it, so it was replaced with a standard flat crystal.

Here side by side after polishing.

And at an angle with the reflection of my worklamp showing the bluish colour.

Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, I best source a standard flat crystal and replace the sapphire. It's funny, it didn't bother me initially, but then the hazy blue view just started driving me nuts. Beautiful work
