Don't forget the Omega Speedmaster automatic has been worn during spaceflight missions.
For example: July 1997 during space shuttle Columbia mission STS-94 by astronaut /mission specialist Michael Gernhardt who wore an Omega Speedmaster automatic triple date.

Over the last couple of years I have followed several discussions on different forums debating what exactly is a "Reduced", and why the "39" is not. Most centered around the Valjoux 775X models having a different subdial layout, as well as a date. Having just read that excellent article at the link posted by Fallout Boy, it seems to validate that contention. I just don't know as, for instance on the Reddit forum (entertaining and brief, but not having the authority and depth of OF), I frequently see the Valjoux model owners referring to their watches as "Reduced". I have done it myself, until several people told me that it was incorrect. Is this "threequarterplate" essay pretty much the final word?
