Respectable member Seamonster,

I propose that in 40 years it will be vintage and everyone will be going nuts trying to acquire one so beat the rush and buy now. I like the looks of that watch. If it were 38-ish mm I'd go try it on.

Thank-you.

Last week I was in the Omega boutique (Fashion Valley, San Diego) and was amazed by the collection. The liquid blue PO and the Brown dial Speedy were amazing to see if real life. Left there with a much greater appreciation for the Omega brand. I did not see any of the above at the boutique.

Not a fan of these. Too many colors and too many choices; so for me it dilutes the Speedmaster brand.

There's a lot to like about these things, the fact that they're autos, and chronometers, and have the coaxial escapement and silicone hairspring, and the traditional chronograph dial layout rather than the piggyback layout with reversed registers make these a very appealing buy

Put black leather band with yellow stitches ..........wow now I also want one. Do you think they will also come with 9300 version?

dont think so as the 9300 is optimised for larger cases, the sub dial spacings would not work in a 40mm watch

I like the look of them, but they're powered by the prissy cal 3313, which I thought was going ot be reserved for women's chronographs only (in the true sexist manner of the Swiss)

Ah but, they're not a Cal 3313. They're a Cal 3330 which is the newly released column wheel movement with co-axial escapement and silicon balance. The Cal 3330 is based on the new Longines chronograph movement:

I yield to your superior memory and thanks for the correction 😀 Somewhere in the turgid recesses of my mind I had registered it as a worked up Valjoux. I still feel that notwithstanding co-axial and silicon balance technology and the fact that its positioned as an entre into the world of Speedmasters that the only speedmaster worth having is powered by a cal 1861. Personal opinion of course, and as a bit of a pedant I've become quite cynical over Omega's more recent monetisations of the Speedmaster iconography.

Cheers

Desmond

I was so close to buying one but it was only 40mm width and looked really small on my wrist so i never bothered, i waited so long after the pics from Basel 2012, gues it was all in vain!

Good luck if you buy it.

Sound advice and indeed, it is an attractive watch. Unfortunately, I will not be around to witness the day when it becomes a vintage.

Thank-you.
