The Seamaster product line predates the Speedmaster one by nearly a decade. For a period of time, Speedmasters were considered a subset of the Seamaster line. Hence, Speedmasters with Seamaster casebacks.
That said, it is surprising that this 1982 (or so) Teutonic would still show a Seamaster caseback.
Why does a Speedmaster dial come with a Seamaster caseback? Is this a manufacturing feature or does it imply replacement in service?
