Help! I bought a vintage solid gold watch and band which has been cut to 6". I need it to be 6.5". Have any of you successfully lengthened the band with components or solid gold links? Thank you for your help!

Welcome,

I think the most seamless way would be to have a goldsmith either extend the "ladder" section of the clasp, or to fabricate a new, longer section. Either way, it won't be cheap!

I found a clasp and ladder gold fills that work. But I would rather it be solid gold. Are there any jewelers that sell gold watch scrap clasp? I was think about buying a non working watch and just using the clasp.

As what Canuck said, have an experienced goldsmith fabricate the gold clasp...in the Phils it would cost you around 150 dollars...
