Have to say—“skeleton” has always struck me as such a brutal, ghoulish way to describe what’s actually an elegant design feature. I don’t see them as skeletal: I see them as scaffolded or as minimalist, allowing the emphasis to be more on the dial and on the pointer indices at the ends of the scaffolding. I haven’t always loved them, but I’ve come to. Sword hands are great too, but they may be a bit overbearing depending on how wide they are.
Lightened hands is perhaps a better description?

I love the look of the sword hands on my 2254, but the hands are a bit too similar and that confuse me in the early mornings.

Or “window hands”?

Fenestrated hands- Latin for "window." in today's literature "an opening in a surface that is natural or created by surgical means." I doubt many will go for it, but it makes a lot of good sense.

FWIW, I did buy this watch with both the rubber and mesh bracelets.

As I have a 7" wrist, I bought a small sized mesh bracelet to minimize the overlap under the clasp. This was the smart thing to do.

The skeletonized sword hands used in the SMP 300 since Brosnan wore it during his first outing as Bond in Goldeneye. I love the way they look

Okay👍 which one is the iconic model out of hundreds of variations???? Omega is destroying their own iconic timepieces by releasing hundreds of variants like with or without orange accents, with or without date complication with or without ceramic bezels, with or without waves on the dials. Such a mistake Rolex would never ever do with their Submariner, just my humble opinion Okay?

Agreed. And they are doing the same thing with the Speedmaster.

That being said, I do think the most recent no date Seamaster (the black one) is the iconic one and this is the one they should make their classic standard. Many of the previous Seamasters look cartoonish and don't age well (especially with those bracelets).

Omega is missing a lot of low lying fruit. Is it Swatch's fault?

Here you go!

Gorgeous! I'd jump on it in a heartbeat if they released this with a Blue dial.

You are in luck...the Bond 60th anniversary is essentially this watch in blue.

Actually Rolex has already done that with their Submariner range, the Hulk, the Batman/Batgirl, the Bruce Wayne and the Kermit. Every luxary brand does that to boast sales, when in fact they are canabalising sales of their own products

I tried on the blue dial yesterday. The metal band doesn't seem all that comfortable. I did not try the rubber band as I was just picking up my quartz watch (battery replaced).

Is the rubber band okay? How does it feel. I do not like the rubber band on one of my cheaper citizen watches, so not sure I would like this on the seamaster. but we really have to options if we want that special blue watch.

When I bought mine, I got both the rubber and mesh bracelets. I love the rubber and expect it will be the primary on this watch.

I have a 7" wrist, so I ordered the small-sized mesh bracelet and it works well (less overlap under the clasp). The mesh bracelet can be uncomfortable initially, especially if there is excessive overlap under the clasp. I suggest being careful about the size mesh you get.

Must say I’ve recently tried on the no date monochrome & no date orange Seamaster on the rubber & the white Speedy on rubbery all are excellent. (Very soft & comfortable). I tried a Tag Heuer Aquracer on recently & the rubber strap was stiff and hardly any movement.

Omega in my short experience offer the best rubber straps I’ve tried, better than the Tudor BB54 rubber, Panerai OEM rubber (very uncomfortable) countless Seiko rubber straps.

That orange strap on the orange SMP no-date is gorgeous. Love the white Speedy on the rubber as well!

Except for the mesh bracelet and the 007 branded caseback, both of which I'm not a big fan of 🙁

For the mesh you really need to try the size S if your wrist is 7” or under.
The standard M that the no date came with looped funny around my wrist till I tried on the S.
Funnily enough, when I tried the NTTD with the standard M, it fit my wrist really well on my 7” wrist.
As mentioned before, the bonus with going with the smallest size you can fit is there is less overlap at the clasp.

You can order the Bond with a blue rubber strap….no one needs to see the caseback but you…

There is always the choice of a NATO to cover the caseback if you don’t mind wearing them.

The traditional 5 link Seamaster Bracelet is very comfortable, the new steel or titanium mesh bracelet is also quite comfortable for me.

The rubber strap also feels good, but I'm not a fan of rubber straps as I sweat allot in HK.
