I have just bought a vintage 1970's Omega Seamaster 120m, model reference ST 166.073 and it comes with a bracelet.

On the buckle, it says '32' (encircled) and followed by 1171/1, while the end-pieces read '634'. Kindly advise, whether this bracelet is correct for the watch.

Thank-you.

1171 is fine for anything of that era, personally I'd consider mesh on one of those as its more comfortable and nice and heavy but the 1171 is a solid unit.

Thanks for your response and advice.

It is not, I want to wear the watch with a bracelet but I just would like to know, whether or not it is correct for the watch, before giving it away to a friend. In view of my shallow knowledge, I do not want him to be disappointed, if subsequently he discovers the bracelet is not meant for his diver watch, which is also similar to mine.

I have always preferred to wear any watch with a leather-band.

Thank-you.

If you're giving him it free, he should be happy no matter what. 馃槈

I know I'd be happy to wear it, correct or not. Wanna send it my way? 馃榿馃榾

Oh, did you ever show us a picture of it?

Thanks for your response.

This friend of mine lent me the money to purchase the watch. In return for the favor he accepts the bracelet, as a gift from me, since he owns a similar 120m with no bracelet.

You should have made the request, much earlier on - sorry, a little too late!

I tried to load the two pictures but failed. Is it possible for me to email those pictures to you? I am not computer-savvy and all my assistants have run miles away.

Thank-you.

Sometimes the file is too large, so resize it smaller and it should post.

..... and I was only kidding about wanting you to give it to me instead of your friend. 馃槈

Thanks for the advice and I shall try to get someone to re-size the pictures. However I do not know, when this will happen. All my 'private tutors' have run away, unfortunately. It is not easy, trying to teach an old dog, new tricks. Teaching me to use the 'type-writer' (after some while, I discovered it is called keyboard), took quite a long while, already.

I know you are kidding. Anyway, it is worth giving the bracelet away to my friend, since without his financial assistance (with no interest payable) to me, I would not be able to own the 120m. It is too expensive for my budget.

Thank-you.

The correct bracelet for the "deep blue" ref. 166.073 is 1170 (22mm at the end, where the 1171 is 20mm). Correct endlinks are the 634's.
Here's mine - on blue leather though...

Thanks for the information. I appreciate.

Your Seamaster diver is a beauty and like you, I prefer it on a leather-band. It is now on a brown one.

Thank-you.
