Long time and happy owner of this massive watch

Unfortunately it is in need of repair

My watchmaker took a look at it and found rust on the stem, but nothing in the watch.

He says to fix it, he need to replace the entire crown. I asked him if he could just not remove rust from stem and replace the gasket in the crown. He said this was not possible, the entire crown needs replacement. Can any one advise if it is possible to replace the gasket on such a crown?

If not, I need to source a new crown.

My information is that

Case 127 1110
Diameter 7.0 mm
Height 2.12 mm
Tube 2.40 mm
thread 1.15 mm

Does this part not have a partnumber you can search for?

You’re going to need either @Archer or Omega for this one.

@Crunchie is right, @Archer is our resident watch maker who knows about everything there is to know about Omega. I'm guessing he can figure out the right answer.

In the meantime: I THINK you gave the wrong number as case #? BUT I found that the Omega 220 SHOULD be a match, and Borel lists the following two as stem numbers:

http://cgi.julesborel.com/cgi-bin/matcgi2?ref=X\[DYD\
http://cgi.julesborel.com/cgi-bin/matcgi2?ref=V\ZD]K\[

Searching the part # for the 'genuine' one shows up that part number at places like this for ~$20: https://www.watchmaterial.com/omega-220-winding-stem-original/

(please disregard if I'm way off track!)

Wow, thx. How about the idea of just replacing gasket - is it not possible on this crown?

Not really done on crowns that do not screw down...

Ok, got it. Thankyou very much. Now I just have to find a new crown - which seems to be impossible - at least i cannot find anything via google with exact match on Omega and "069ST42182"

OP @Pacificodk , how is that going? Hopefully your repairs are under control. Please do post a wrist shot of your watch when you have a chance. Thanks.

Thank you for your pictures. Surprisingly, does not look too big at all! That's a temping watch for me, for sure.

What country are you in? Contact an independent watchmaker with an Omega parts account. They can order the parts and install. Omega does not sell parts on the open market anymore (since 2015).
