That's normal, although the final flip is typically closer to midnight - that is just how the hands are set on in relation to the date change.

I just want to confirm that a slight delay past midnight is still within the expected behavior for the 1011.
It's not a matter of expected behavior, it's how the watchmaker set the hands, as @Archer noted. The hands don't know what time it is.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, but if it bothers you, you can ask the watchmaker to remove the hands and reset them. There's always some risk when you start tampering with a watch, though.
