Hi just purchased this watch. I did a little research but I cannot find any other sample with the same hands. Also the type is not painted on the dail. I guess it is a Geneve.
Can anyone help me with the question if these hands are original and witch type it is.
Much appriciated

Hands look to be at the least relumed with some green-ish super-luminova. Not my field, but we do have some guys that know these.

I think the hands should not have lume and looks like they are from Zenith (?)
Omega (and many others) made hands and hour markers matching in styles, materials, colors etc....
For example : Solid gold hands go with solid gold markers. Lumed hands go with lumed markers. Black striped hands go with black striped markers (or with onyx inserts)
I guess you need a set of baton hands with pointed ends and black stripes. (color matching the markers)

Well, not necessarily - I've seen original watches with lume on one but not the other. If I recall correctly, some mid 60's De Villes had lumed hands without lume on the dial. Can't say for sure about solid gold hands and markers since I've never seen a test on them, but many of Omega's hands are plated except for the high end watches. I always thought that solid gold dial meant solid gold hands. I'll defer to more experienced members on that subject though so if I'm wrong let me know guys.

Would you show me some ? Thanks .

The term "solid" means it doesn't have lume nor stripes.

How about these ? I'd like to see some and learn new things.

Best.

Let me see what I can dig up. I could swear some of the regular Seamasters also had lume on the hands but not the dial (or vice versa). Check back later.

Pretty sure it was one T.

You mean no lume on the dial but there was one T next to Swiss Made ? (Swiss Made T ?)

I think that's it. Can't really check right now at work.

Here's a question for you both (Dennis and Hoi)

If OM is for solid gold in french, for the dials that are solid gold...

On the pre-BA/BB/BG references, they use OG for white gold and OT for yellow gold... what does the G in OG mean and the T in OT mean? I had imagined OG would be "Om Gris" or gold-grey but can't find anything related to yellow that would fit the T in OT.

I know in Patek-land, G is white gold, J is yellow gold, P is Platinum and R is rose gold, that fits with the G in OG but thats about it.

Hoi, there's a thread on WUS (that I can't access) talking about some of the late 60's Seamasters where we talked about the difference between having one T and two T's alongside the SWISS MADE. Desmond made a comment about it being the amount of lume used. A couple of the examples shown had lume on the hands but not on the dial and had only T.
