路路Ash @ 惟FPassing through Brisbane city today I dropped by Wallace Bishop and was told by one of the salesmen there that Omega and Wallace Bishop / Hardy Brothers have opened an Omega boutique down from Queen St as an add-on to their existing jewellery store so I had a wander down to check it out.
I have to say the boutique is very small, only big enough for about 8 people but they do have a very nice selection including 18kt solid gold Planet Oceans on full bracelet, high end limited edition Speedmaster Professionals, 18kt Hour Visions, 18k Lady-Matics, which look stunning, and a range of regular Omega watches, including the staple SS Planet Ocean, Seamaster Pro and Speedmaster Pro lines.
They are also stocking Omega jewellery including some extremely good looking men's cufflinks in Omega designs (one set being sold to a lady while I was in there). Very knowledgable specialist sales staff, well dressed, wearing Omega's no less, not a generic sales assistant that you find in normal jewellers.
One very interesting thing I discovered while I was there, was that the Omega line-up is very much in transition at the moment. The ETA Cal 1120 base movement Seamaster Professional watches are no longer on display or sale, only Cal 2500, which has been the case for some time now, but more significantly, the Seamaster Professional Chronograph with its Omega Cal 1164 (ETA 7750 base) movement is no longer available in either blue or black colour. The only chronographs in the Seamaster family are the Planet Ocean Chronograph and Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronograph, both featuring the Omega Cal 3313 (Frederic Piguet 1285 base).
Apparently the new Cal 9300 (Omega in-house) chronographs have been on order and were due to be released to boutiques by the start of August but these are still on the way, as are the Cal 9300 Speedmaster automatics, and Hour-Vision blue dial editions released this year at Baselworld 2011.
Can't wait to see how these new chronographs turn out!
