Hi ! Greetings from Morocco.

A watch enthusiast, a regular reader of specialized forums (including this one, thanks to which I learned a lot) and a would-be watch collector. I have been reading this forum for a few weeks before joining in. Big thanks for your enthusiasm, your helpfulness, and for turning me into an Omega addict 馃榿

I am interested in Omegas watches from the late 50s / early 60s, and more broadly, everything related to the late 50s / early 60s.

Cheers to you all !

Welcome to the forum!
Got any pictures of your collection to share? Or are you just starting out?

Um... how should I say. I'm just starting out. The only watch I have so far is a quartz Fr茅d茅rique Constant (and a lot of regrets 馃槵).

(Yes, I know it's folly and blasphemy to post an image that doesn't show ONLY the watch. Our Administrator, who art in heaven, please forgive us our trespasses)

No problem. We all have to start somewhere. But, before you think about parting with cash for a vintage watch, I'd recommend spending some time reading the forum. Your goal is to learn what vintage watch collectors look for in an authentic vintage watch, as opposed to a watch that has been put together from parts (a "franken" watch) or has had the dial repainted (a "redial") or is an outright fake.

To get you started, take some time to read these threads:

Then take some time to review this thread to see what other collectors collect: https://omegaforums.net/threads/wruw-today.567/

Don't be afraid to ask questions about watches you are interested in. And welcome to the hobby!

Welcome aboard, late 50s is such a good era for Seamasters and Constellations.

The condition condition condition thread linked above is the best advice anyone could get.

@Marty McDawg, @STANDY, thank you so much ! 馃榾

Yes, I'm reading the condition thread right now. It's really an eye opener. I was about to buy a pretty deteriorated vintage Omega before reading it.

Welcome Adriageerz, nothing wrong with a Frederique Constant in my opinion. I've owned a couple. Passed this one to my son.
