Don't know if this has been reported previously (TLDR)

In the private sales thread, I made a comment in someone else's thread, then when I attempted to comment on a different for sale thread, I wasn't allowed. It seemed to think I was attempting to post another for sale within 24 hours.

This doesn't seem intended?

Within the last week or two, I noticed two changes

  • I can no longer drag image files from my Mac desktop into a reply window. If I drag an image file into the window, it just shows the filename and does not display as an image. I can still upload an image using the Add photos or files button.
  • All of the drafting tools are grayed out, e.g. B I U link emoticons, etc.

This is using Safari 17.6. It's ok in Firefox.

When the drafting tools are greyed out, is the brackets/quote tool enabled? For me, when that tool is selected, everything becomes greyed out.

Works OK on MacBook Pro Safari 18.2, see above.

Some of these crusty old forum features are dumb and annoying. We'd like to remove them, just need to do so without breaking anything else.

This one's entirely on me.

@Trev I noticed today that accessing via Chrome on my computer the theme (OF auto setting) follows my phone settings which is running in dark mode via Chrome://flags/ settings (OF auto setting). Before today OF on my computer always had light theme (still on auto setting) and phone was dark.

We haven't made any changes on the OF side of things recently. The OF theme choice will be synced across any device where you're logged in to OF, but visually the Chrome flag will always override colors to dark mode (on that specific device).

Very strange:
Laptop Chrome
not signed in with Google
Chrome://flags dark mode setting = default
Theme setting OF auto

Phone Chrome
signed in with Google
Chrome://flags dark mode setting = enabled Theme setting OF auto

Changing theme on phone to auto results in OF on laptop displaying dark colours.

Google Chrome on laptop was updated yesterday but before that it never behaved like this.

Is Windows/MacOS set to dark or light mode on your desktop?

So, what you're trying to accomplish is different themes per-device?

Yes, which was working until a few days ago, another watchforum I visit still works like that. I'll post a comparison pic of my phone and laptop browser when I get to the office.

I briefly had that but I think it was something cache related as after I cleared website data for OF it was fine afterwards, might be good to try that first
Excuse the way delayed response to this but tried deleting the website data fix and still running into the issue. Not sure if anyone figured out a solution but thought I’d share.

Yeah, we've been trying to contact the owner for ages. Other people have contacted him on our behalf too. No response at all. 🫠
Watchrecon: I assume this is still the case?
I tried to reach out to ask, as a user/buyer, why OF listings have disappeared and received no response as well.
Too bad. Maybe they are still angry from when @STANDY broke their site with his legendary Seiko?

Yes, unfortunately. They've been contacted many times in multiple ways, still radio silence.

Laptop (auto setting)

Phone (auto setting)
The easiest approach to have different themes on multiple devices is to set "auto" as your OF theme option, then change the dark/light theme setting on each device in settings.

We haven't updated anything related to theming for a while on our end, so I'm not really sure why the behavior with your existing work-around changed.
