Hi
Thanks for adding me
As an antiques dealer I really appreciate craftsmanship and design so I'm very pleased with my first Omega watch,
a PO 42mm pictured with my Seiko SKX which in itself is a great watch.

Welcome. That's a nice avatar - Knox? I'm in the process of breathing life back into something similar right now.

Yes, Archibald Knox retailed by Liberty & co 1902-1905 .
I'd love to see a photo of yours when it's finished .This one sold a while ago but I've got another one by David Veasey, just waiting for the movement to come back from an overhaul and I'll list it on my website. They are so beautiful and popular with those who know!

Wow , nice work. Lots of elbow grease gone into this, it looks great.
Big respect for saving it

That's pretty much all it's had - elbow grease! The case has had ten hours; the movement had two weeks in WD40 followed by an hour or so in the ultrasonic cleaner before it was at the point that it could be easily disassembled. Since then, a new mounting plate had to be made and a Japy movement has donated its spring barrels/winders/springs and a setting wheel.

Japy bought Marti in the early 1900s and began to make a copy of this Marti movement - I've got a Japy that is almost identical to the Marti (there's 0.6mm difference between the two and all the wheels are the same). The Japy even has the correct bell. In a few more days, we'll be ready to make the hands for it and I've got some old brass plate sitting on my desk that might lend itself to that job. I just have to decide if I like the colour difference between the copper and the brass or if I have to source some copper and get out the ballpane hammer!

The contrast between brass and copper looks good on arts and crafts pieces and was sometimes used by WMF and others to good effect!

Hi
I'm thinking about an SKX007 for the black dial & bezel but currently avoiding another watch purchase by buying new straps & clasps etc to keep things interesting!
