If Calgary Flames meet Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup semi-finals, GO FLAMES GO! 馃槈 Anyway, welcome.
You must admit that Oilers has done much better than they have in the past ten years! 馃榿 Do you know if there is any GTG in Alberta or there aren't enough collectors?

Agreed! The Oilers are just about the biggest surprise in the N H L this year! I hope this isn't another "wait 'til next year" for the Flames, now that they are in the semi finals. A F A I K, there are only three O B members in Calgary. I don't know about Edmonton. A GT has not happened, and the tactical challenge of so few members in such a large area might mean one doesn't happen. If you are anywhere near Calgary on April 22 and 23, two of us will be exhibiting close to 100 railroad grade and railroad approved American and Swiss pocket and wrist watches and standard clocks at Supertrain 2017. The event is on line. A GT? Red Deer anyone?

Welcome from Victoria BC! I'm new around here myself, just starting the hunt for my first Omega. You'll find a wealth of knowledge on this board, it has already saved me from making a couple of bad purchases.

There are a handful in Edmonton, too, but scattered over various forums. Red deer might work out well now that the roads are no longer snow covered! Where can i find the details online?

Nobody will know by my avatar and aka who I am. But I am one Calgarian now (for the very first time) pulling for Edmonton Oliers in the Stanley Cup semi finals. Go Oilers go! Never thought it could come this! 馃檨 Calgary Flames, 0 and 4 against Anaheim. It's too much for a Calgarian to bear. 馃

I was going to switch loyalties to the Leafs, but we know what happened there. I am not a particularly strong Flames fan and the Oilers have always treated me much better than the Flames (long story).

Wow! Nice to meet so many Canucks!! I knew there were a bunch of us here, but this is great to see!
I'm from Winnipeg, although have lived in both Calgary and Edmonton during my schooling/training. Would love to be able to attend a GTG in another Canadian centre; I will be in Edmonton May 31-June 2 for a conference-any way I could meet some of the crew?

Although Winnipeg is often thought of a bit of backwater, we do have a thriving watch culture. I and a couple of partners have put together a club of sorts here, the Winnipeg Watch Enthusiasts (almost 300 members strong!), run a website/forum and meet on a quarterly basis to share a meal and chat about anything watch or timepiece. So if any of you are in town on June 21, let me know! We have had guests from Edmonton and Toronto over the past 5 years.

PM me when you are here in Edmonton. I might be able to meet up! There is a small chance I'll be traveling for work, but its looking slim.
