Hi all,

After spending quite some time reading and learning on this forum I decided it's time to sign up and introduce myself.

But first of all, the least I can say is thank you all for the information and help you provide on this forum, it is a mine of information for people like me who wants to learn more about omega vintage watches in the hope/aim of buying one.

Now more about me, I'm in my 30s, French but I live on London, UK. I've always loved wearing watches, even if the first ones I had were cheap quartz one. I now have 3 watches I really like, an automatic Junkers, an Omega Seamaster Quartz and an automatic Longines.

Junkers

Omega

Longines

I also use to have a vintage Junghans but I gave it to my mate for his wedding.
I've only got this poor picture from WhatsApp:

And the reason why I joined this forum:
Since I let go my vintage Junghans, I've been looking for a new one to buy. I want a gold (filled or capped) case or a SS case with cream/patina dial. The more I was doing research online, the more I felt in love with vintage Omegas 馃グ.
The constellation ones really appeal to me, I don't know if it's because of the style, the font they used for the word 'Constellation', or the little star on the dial. But some of them really are out of my league in terms of budget (pie pan constellation will have to wait I am afraid), so I am also thinking about a vintage Seamaster. Hopefully spending more time on forum will help me find the right one 馃榾.
I've already spent more time watching eBay's listings than I am willing to admit, but I really don't want to buy a fake / redial / modified one 馃槨

I was planning on doing a short presentation, but here we are..

Jerome

Hello @Elipside and welcome aboard! 馃榾 If you're interested in vintage Constellations, there is much to learn at this website: https://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com/

And before you buy, don't be afraid to ask for opinions on the watch you are interested in. Just be sure to provide plenty of pictures as well as your own thoughts.

Oh wow I did not know this website. Looks like I still have quite a lot of reading to do (the sort of reading I enjoy!). Thanks!

I'll definitely solicit your help before buying anything 馃槵

Welcome aboard - I quite like the Junkers you got!

Thanks!
The Junkers is not a very fancy watch but it has a sort of vintage look that I like. And it's the first automatic watch I ever owned, I have to admit seeing/feeling the rotor spins is very enjoyable.

Welcome on board Jerome. The Longiness master chronograph was always one of my favourites in my early years of watch collection. Lovely watch

Welcome to the game. i've always liked the Longines master. The junkers design it rather cool for a "simple" miyota movement.
You'll find a certain number of french speakers here, this can be helpful sometimes.
