I am currently negotiating the purchase of a SMP 2254.50. The seller has sent me some pics and everything looks good except I'm having issues with the picture of the case back. Seeing the serial number is not real clear and the the # 903 is faint and not in the same position as I have seen on other ones. The seller claims this watch is from 2009. The seller also apologized for the picture quality which was taken with his I phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I am assuming no box or papers? If he can give me the first 4 of the serial I can check my sold listings to see if it falls within reason.

Thanks George! The box and papers are included. I haven't seen pictures of them, but I have requested pictures and am awaiting them. I have requested close ups of the warranty cards and the serial # and will list the first 4 when I get them.

George,
I received the pictures and the first 4 digits of the serial # are 8153. Thanks again!

It looks good to me. The location of the "903" on mine is on the same spot as the one in your pictures. Is a great looking watch and it wears well - but that's of course IMHO. 😁

Thanks! I did a little more research and it looks like the earlier models had the # below the pins and the later models it is between them. I ended up purchasing the watch yesterday and am awaiting the arrival. Should be a nice addition to my PO Crono! Can't wait!

Sorry for the late reply as I didn't get an updated notice. The serial seem to be close to the 2009 references I have sold. To finalize the number if on the bottom of the pictogram there are 10 digits. If you take that number and minus 1 you can tell the year it was matched to. e.g. if you see it say 10 then it should be a 2009 serial. if it says 08 then it should be 2007 and so on.

Thanks for the info George. The watch should be here in a few days.
