I just bought a Rolex watch from a flea market yesterday and cannot find any information on it. The watch looks vintage to me. It says Rolex and under it Geneve. On the bottom it says Quartz and Japan Movt. I looked inside and couldn't see a serial number anywhere. Only Unadjusted/No Jewels and Akita LTD. The hands are also in the form of scissors. What would the value be on this? Any info on this would be appreciated. i have attached an image Thanks.

New to watches, I understand. A couple rules:

  • Rolex at a flea market is 99.99999% of the time fake
  • Any watch with scissors as the hands = $0 value

I do like the scissor hands though, very creative, a Tailor or Seamstress may have owned this or been given as a promo piece.

So ask yourself:

Why would a manufacturer (Rolex) FAMOUS for making all their stuff in Switzerland, use a Japanese movement?

NEXT thing to ask yourself when looking at a watch like this: Rolex is a brand that sells $8k+ watches. Does this LOOK like something that anyone would have paid that much for? Look at the quality of manufacture for things like that. If it doesn't 'feel' or look quality, its a fake.
