Need advice for value retention & higher appreciation

Hello,

I am new to Omega. After my research, I have a few lists here to go. It appears that the Omega Globemaster Watch-18K Sedna gold bezel-blue dial (ref: 130-30-39-21-03-001) retains its value better and has higher appreciation than the Omega Constellation. It seems like the Omega Globemaster Watch-18K Sedna gold bezel-blue dial is for a men's watch, but I am not too sure it would fit well on women's wrists. My wrist is 17 CM and 5'6" tall. Not sure if this watch is too big and doesn't look good on a woman's wrist?

For its strap, I am considering either its two-tone strap or stainless steel strap of Omega Globemaster Watch-18K Sedna gold bezel-blue dial. If I select a leather or stainless steel , would it still be a good pick for value retention and higher appreciation when compared to Omega Constellation 29 MM or 39 MM?

Thank you

The golden grail! A watch that will retain its value, and even appreciate over years! Best of luck. When a watch is offered for sale, the intended buyer knows you no longer want it, and will often give you a low ball offer in order to find out just how badly you want to divest yourself of it. Watches are an investment in pleasure, only.

Thank you for your reply. That's what I thought with Omega Globemaster Watch-18K Sedna gold bezel-blue dial (ref: 130-30-39-21-03-001). I would like to clarify if this is men watch? If it is, isn't it too big or have an awkward look on women's wrists?

Thank you!

So many women today, wear Apple Watches. They are likely larger than the subject Omega. Try one on in a store to get a feel for proportion.

At 39mm it is a bit of a 'could go either way' these days. That said, at 17mm, you have a decent sided wrist, I'd say you'd be fine with it. I'd suggest going to an AD and checking it out.

As others said, don't buy a watch for 'investment' purposes, you're better off putting cash under your mattress than investing in watches. No one really knows what the future holds for value, but none of the 3 are going to hold their value particularly well (though the Globemaster, being a 'more interesting' watch and not a strictly ladies watch, will do better).

The problem with stashing your cash under a mattress, you’ll find out next day/week/year that your dollar will buy you less and less, and prices keep going up and up.

That should show how good of an investment watches are 😀

Inflation isn't bad for mattresses... But terrible for cash positions.

They are and my woman want's a Blue Side of The Moon Aventurine to replace her Apple watch and only likes Chronographs (she likes all the complications). She's the one with the PhD; obviously knows better than I.

Could be worse.
