hi,
navitimer%20NSA%205_zpswy1gizce.jpg
I found a navitimer 806 (1964) with this movement: rhodium plated, unusual signature, unusual balance cock.
any thoughts?

thank you all - h.u.

Never saw something like this before indeed.
As you said, balance cock is unusual...
What bother me the most is also the missing import code: should be WOG for such period, stamped on the balance bridge

strange ,
I cant read what it says 170 or 175 or 178 ?
also all Breitling movement mainplates (from that period) were signed with 'TJ' below the 17x model marker

but I have never seen a rodium plated venus movement in a Navitimer , I am certain movement was replaced

Are you sure it isn't the reflection? I've had quite a bit of fun photographing watch movements and making the parts look like different colors.

Hi Eric
the normal colour is 'copper' , looking at the yellow paint on the 'Breitling LTD' there does not seem to be much colour shift ?
and you'd be hard pressed to change a movement colour from 'copper' to 'rhodium' ? also the seller describes it as rhodium so I doubt very much its really another colour 😀

for comparison , the colour we all know from a Navitimer

Ah, yes, 100% correct... never seen this on a Navitimer.

Here are some movements with similar engravings and Rhodium. None of these are Venus 178, and not commenting on the "correctness" of these pieces, but figured I would post them for comment. The first one is marked Venus 175 and comes from a Chronomat ref 808, appears to be the same bridge. the others are Top TIme

Thank you all. i´m sure its a 178. And i don´t like the big/golden Breitling signature. The auction is mine, but i don´t want to fool anyone or use this forum to announce the auction. i´m only curious, what kind of mariage (?) this could be. I bought that navitimer last week from a friend and can return or swap it at any time. As mentioned in the auction text its from 1964 and the lugs are a bit polished, but the face is nice...

balance cock sig is correct , even for a navitimer from certain years, Breitling used various signature designs and this is one of them
but the rhodium plating isnt correct for a navitimer

have you been able to decipher which model number is on the mainplate (170,175 or 178) and is there a 'TJ' below it ?
