Sharing my recent arrival from a small auction house in Israel. I believe it’s a ck859 from 1939, and it measures 37.5mm. It needs service so will be headed to my watchmaker soon.

To be honest, this one is a bit out of my wheelhouse, so I could use some guidance on a few things:
1) Originality. To me, it looks fully original down to the crown. Anything I missed?
2) Value. While it wasn’t cheap, at least by my standards, the dealer pricing and major auction house sale prices I see are staggering. $5k+, or in some cases much more. I have no intention to sell but it would still be helpful to understand ballpark value for insurance. Plus it would be nice to know my opportunity cost for keeping (e.g., how many Seamasters and Connies I could trade it for 😀 )
3) Extracts. Is it worth getting one? Unfortunately I have no history on the watch. Most of my collection is made up to relatively low value pieces, so I haven’t bothered to date.

Thanks for the guidance as always.

Thanks all. Sounds like originality is 👍

Any input on value and an extract?

I sent for the archive but the pages were missing so got my money back.
Don’t ask me for a valuation because I will say a low price because I want it 😁

Funny how this happens every time I get a cool watch I know little about 😀

Very desirable one! Can’t really help on valuation but the black dial is certainly driving it up.
