I picked this up last June fully serviced for $100. I believe it has the Record 505 movement.

Yep. That's a rebadged Record caliber. Longines' codes it as the 50x series. Record used to call it the 195x series. It's one of the few Longines used inside their own watches when they took over Record in 1961.

Nice watch.

You know, for $100 you get a chinese made Quartz piece of crap at the local jewellers with gold plating so thin your shirt cuff rubs it off, or that.

I know which I'd take.

If you hunt around, you can find those pos's for 5-10$.

I'd still feel ripped off even for that, its amazing what some people wear, you feel the sharp edges and its like they didn't even bother cutting the case properly, yet you can find an otherwise upmarket jeweller selling it as an "executive" timepiece.
