The Tyrrell is great, you've done a really nice job on that 馃憤
Figure painting is top notch 馃憦
I remember those potentiometer speed controllers, they weren't great almost like on and off!
ESC's made such a difference.

The only Tamiya I have now is an original 1/12 Lola T70, motorised but not R/C.

I have a great fondness for Tamiya. My very first Tamiya plastic model kit was the 1/12th scale Ferrari 312T (Niki Lauda '75). I also built the '76 Tyrrell six wheeler, next after the Ferrari.
Indeed, I had the 1/12 JPS Lotus MkIII.
Funny that after you build it you know exactly how an F1-car was build in real life.
Great kits.

Haha, yes indeed.
Most of them got thrown away cuz they were crap!
That's the reason they are very hard to find nowadays.
They were on the Porsche 935, Sixwheeler, B2B and XR-311.
The very first one on the Porsche 934 was even worse but worth a fortune now, IF you can find them cuz only the 934 had that special "double" one.

PS Here you can see to what battery boxes I was referring to in my Sixwheeler story.

Yeah they were rubbish!
I remember having a Rough Rider with a similar one and a Sand Scorcher too.
Didn't realise there was a double one on the Porsche.
I always wanted the Chevy Blazer but even 20 years ago they were tough to find and expensive .

That was the third or fourth one I built during the '70s and I amazingly still have it at my parent's home. Thanks to my father, who put it in storage when I left for college. I guess he must've taken a fancy to the JPS livery or just liked the Lotus for some reason. The rest were lost or tossed.
