hey guys,

There a MUT 38 on sale on WUS, and it's a dress watch I've always kinda lusted after in the SS version. The seller is likely to be in my hometown (Singapore), and I've PM-ed him to confirm this.

So I wanted to ask you guys - based on the photos, does the watch look legit? To my untrained eye, it looks OK, but the photos aren't the greatest. Also, the price seems a bit lower than usual, which is what made me a little cautious. Or am I just being paranoid?

Thanks in advance!

That's about right for a used MUT. All the others you're used to seeing ask WAY too much.

Depends on the definition of "a while". 😜

Oh man, the plot thickens. I PM-ed the seller to check, and he replied within minutes.

Though he is based in Singapore, it turns out this wasn't his post! Some scammer had appropriated his WUS id and posted the FS ad, using a variant of his usual email address to trick potential buyers. He's naturally a little pis*ed and has notified WUS.

Looks like the scammer stole pictures of a legit MUT from elsewhere, as usual. Oh well, sometimes when the squirrel bites, it turns out to be a fake squirrel 😲 Would've been nice though to have the deal done locally.

I do feel you should be complimented on your willingness to abandon your principles in the face of a sweet deal, even though you were not obliged to follow through on this occasion. You are a credit to watch junkies everywhere.

Glad that you got away safely from that scammer. As usual don't forget to use Paypal with buyer protection when buying from someone you don't really know. Cliche but sometimes in the heat of a deal we tend to forget basic things.
