pretty new to this macro thing, but some fun with nikkor 40mm micro

It looks like a shot without a crystal, so clean.

Yup, however you can see some reflections in top left😀 I'm trying now with "focus stacking" method (not a beginner thing to be honest), but I'll share with you the first results😉

I agree outside in daylight. Try blocking sun with your body and let light filter around and try sun exactly opposite so you do not shade and sometimes you get dramatic "shiny" shots. Black dials are still my nemesis in any lighting. Of course removing crystal can do wonders.

Not much of a macro shot. Lighting poor but sent pic to a friend who designs tooling for aerospace just to show him how small the gib (think circlip) is that secures the rotor axle on a Rolex 3035. And that they come in different thicknesses!
