OK, I've become interested in acquiring a nice 30L.

Saw this one sell for what seems like a reasonable price...Just under $550.

Its an Argentinean case and a a bad redial but the movement looks great and the case is a big size and rose gold.

Good price, bad price, satay away from things like this?

What should a really nice 30L go for and it doesn't need to be gold.

Thanks.

I sold a very nice version of a watch just like that for $460 a year and a half ago. Great looking watch when redone:

Now the bad part: it was also in a solid 18ct gold South American case. The gold was built up around a brass ring with 4 prongs for the lugs so there was a total of $170-ish in scrap value for the case. You'd never get your money out of that and probably lose if you bought it at anything above $300 after you add in the costs of a proper redial and service. As nice as the 30L and 30 LS are, as movements only they might get you $50 - $75 tops. I buy Longines calibers for $25 give or take.

Secondly, I doubt that was a Flagship before it was redialed. There are a lot of no name 30L's around that can be had cheap.

Verdict: a big pass.

Your welcome! You know, there are people who get upset with me when I lay it out in language that leaves no confusion. 😕

I'll keep looking.

And I'll keep answering if you keep posting. 👍 Don't tell the rest of the gang, but Longines is my #1 brand. Problem is there aren't many good sources for information.
