Literally laughing at myself

So a while back a buddy of mine made this deal about sending me a helmut which I’ve been longing for. He was running all these numbers etc giving me a hard time and in the midst of it he sent it as a gift. I was able to find his cost and just pay pal him as I’m not expecting gifts and we made no plans to exchange gifts but I found I love the seiko helmut. So chunky and tall it’s comical. I just got another one about an hour ago. This one operates perfectly and keeps great time but the case is just rough. So I got another helmut head only. (I can only wear one at a time anyway) and despite having an original bracelet I prefer it on leather.

But this watch thing really is weird I will not be selling either, it’s not like this is a hot sought after seiko I just like it but I have never felt the need to have two of the same watch. As a matter of fact it sounds less sensible the more I write but still makes perfect sense. But the joy of a chunky somewhat odd looking watch that brings a few people to not compliment it but ask me what the hell it is and why would I wear such a thing. Something like that I think deserves a back up. I’m sure my wife will understand and have a good laugh herself, nah that’s not happening.

You know there's a function on most devices that allow you to "crop" a picture don't you?

😉

He is used to holding a paint brush during his wrist shots. Never crops his photos.

Says who?

You know after fending off a dog bite with a seiko tortoise yesterday I am seriously considering strapping two watches from now on. Not that I would expect a repeat of that event but I didn’t expect it yesterday either so preparation, invictas and other big watches are now on the table. I think a helmut may also be effective against humans they are so big.

Lucky escape - if you'd been wearing that Seiko yesterday, the poor doggie would have needed treatment. 😜

You know I don’t want to turn a thread poking fun of myself serious but I am so grateful I didn’t have to harm the dog. I’ve never had hand to hand combat with an animal I don’t think the odds would be in my favor anyway but if that situation got worse I would have felt horrible if anything more than nose bop was needed although I’m pretty sure I would have most likely been the one needing stitches or rabies shots or who knows what else.

A quick question, did you get a second one so you could walk in a straight line? 😉 The heft of that thing would surely pull you round in circles...

I’m not sure it will clear up that problem but I might as well try. Thanks

This thread needs a wrist shot showing the dial.
😀

And while you're at it, please show that you still have a hand, I'm a little worried.

I think, the Helmut is a Helmet...... The model name that is..... But Helmut ( as a common given name in mostly German speaking areas .....) adds a personal touch to it.
