Hi all ..I posted these pictures on the photography page buf I think this page will better, the expandable part is overstretched but still wearable..original solid link with Le Coultre cipher..1964 k 814 with the nice clover shaped shock protector. My main concern is thd alarm, which does sound but the crown doesn't 'click' and freewheels backwards when enough tension is on it.

It's a beautiful watch. It has the 814 manual movement, which is pretty accurate. It sounds like you may have some issues with the Crown. Maybe from wear and tear over the years.. When's the last time you had it serviced? It's probably worthwhile getting its service because it's a very nice watch.Especially if you're gonna keep it long term. Enjoy it.I love this watch and I use mine all the time.

If you are winding the crown for the alarm and it is winding back, the crown wheel and clock aren’t meshing.

Is there anywhere in particular in England that is recommended to have this watch serviced at

Hi Artisgil..being from America you may like these two..a 1939 Gruen curvex..I'm hoping its a 1st edition as 1939 was the crossover to 2nd series..I darent take if apart to check. The Benrus is stamped inside US Zone Germany so clearly military , maybe from a PX shop.

Very nice and great history! I love both brands and WW2 history. I dont have a Gruen but have several post war Benrus. This one has chocolate patina case design - with the sculpted lugs and gold-tone finish - is pure mid-50s Benru
