The Panda definitely looks better to me, Lou. This one and the Nina is very high on my list, 35mm is the perfect size for me. Of course, Noodia's are also very nice 馃憤

just curious......your tri-compax "Panda Dial", does it have the tiny "U" etched in the middle of the crystal (centered with the hr/minute hands)? my "panda dial" doesn't have that "U" , but the reversed panda it does have it. thanks !


The U should be present in all of the Universals from this time period if the original crystal is still in place. More often than not, the crystal has been replaced with a generic. In my opinion, it doesn't have any effect on the value of the piece, but it's certainly nice to find an original example with the signed crystals, which cannot be obtained anymore.

And here's a version without the external bezel with a silver dial - this one can be had with or without a tachymeter on the dial

I like that quite a bit. There is a lot going on with the complications on the dial, but yet still very readable. Well done! ::psy::

I figured that it had to be U on the crystal, it's a nice mark to have because it shows the integrity of the watch. and I have seen lately that tri-compax (panda dilas) parts watches they hit as as high 3K
