Wear it polished until it gets sufficiently scratched and then try brushing?

Now the question: to brush or not to brush the center link?
I do love the overall look of the watch and to my surprise I kind like the polished links but since a member mentioned the idea of brushing the shiny link I found myself toying with this idea.
What do you think of this suggestion? If I brush them how about the shinny angles of the case? Something tells me that if I brush the shinny link I better to the same with the shiny case as well in order to have a 'coherent ' look, more foolish vibe.
Iam curious to read your opinions.

I don't know, if you have an extra $1,000 laying around maybe you can be the lab rat? Brush one bracelet, if you don't like it, pick up a second one from Omega, all in the name of science!

I can see a Nato strap potentially offsetting some of the angularity of the watch. Will have to check it out in person.

The NATO strap option makes me wonder how the case-back will hold up. It's apparently solid titanium, so softer and more prone to scratches than steel and the shape of it results in the edges protruding a bit. That said, they do make a Planet Ocean ultra-thin in titanium on NATO so I guess they're confident that their straps won't do any harm to it over time.

Or you could just get it polished again…

Yeah, even a capecod cloth can polish one up pretty easily. Heck, there was a guy on TRF a year or two ago who accidentally polished his Sub bracelet (or a different one? Something with brushed links) absentmindedly.

You are it would be a waist of money.

I think this is the best solution if z I want to go that road. By then the watch will have lots of characters and I won't brush the link.

Indeed, but then you could switch back and forth and decide which was better 😉

That is true. In the end it was a stupid idea.

Honestly, this on a rubber strap and summer 2026... a match made in heaven.

Just wish it had a small date window somewhere, I'm probably one of the few people who actually use that function quite a lot.

I want to like it. I really do. I just prefer the previous model(s). However, I can appreciate the reasons others love it so much. Enjoy it!

Omega NATO is not wearable. If you try something like B&J it will be a mile more wearable.
Another thing is to wear that kind of strap the watch has to be slim <10mm and light <70 grams, otherwise it will look and feel awful. I could confidently confirm that any Seamaster or Speedmaster sits awful on NATO vs proper field watch. It will look good only to make a picture on the table. Truly wearable experience you have to have right watch for this. IMHO.
The bracelet will scratch case back either ti or steel. Swiss makers don’t put coating to make it harder.

Member on another forum TZ UK. Brushed the PCLs on his GMT (Batman - I think). 💯 improved the look.

Personally I would, as unless a dressy piece PCLs don’t work & will become a scratch magnet.

I agree. I'm not particularly fond of Omega's NATO straps.

I actually think I might do that some day.

As is, I think the shape of this bracelet needs to make its way to other models in the lineup. The SMP line, for example, needs a refreshed bracelet.

You can really see how reflective the Rolex dial is in a lume shot. Now perhaps had the put a glossy dial on the Planet Ocean, maybe that would have sent it over the top. As it stands I think they did an amazing job with the watch.
While I'm happy they reduced the case size and thickness (I preferred the size of the first gen PO's, but hated the endlink design) I really don't like the fact that they removed the date, and even less happy about the fact that they took away the ceramic dial. While a version with a date might come down the line, I doubt they'll also include a cearmic dial with it. Next to the sub it's a day and night difference between the blacks, the PO doesnt even look black, it looks like faded charcoal or like washed out "black" jeans you find in vintage shops.

I saw all three colourways last night at the launch event in London - the black one was my favourite, and gave off scaled down Ultra Deep vibes. Congratulations!
Me too where were you? Me Regent Street

It can look that way because it's a matte black, it has a tendency to absorb the light, rather than reflect it. The sub has a very glossy dial and reflects the light However, the Planet Ocean will only look like that when it is hit with very bright, direct light. All other times it looks dark black. I like the matte black ability to have different looks depending on the lighting. As you can see in this pic, the dial looks dark black, even though its in the afternoon and no clouds in the sky. When I get a chance I will take a few pics outside, side by side, with the sub.
