And of course anybody else who may be interested.

Finally got all the parts for my vintage watchmakers lathe sorted and mocked up. Now all I have to do is pull it all apart again and restore the finish where parts are rusty and dirty. Then I have to build the speed controller and then put it all back together.

Here are some shots for you Jim, any feedback welcome.

Cheers

Jim (the other Jim)

A vintage watchmaker's lathe with a printed circuit board?
What evil wizardry do we see here?

Jim, you are the McGuyver of the watch world !!

I am really interested in your drive belt as I need a replacement.

I have finally met someone with a case of OCD as severe as mine (see garage photos),
are there others among you?

The motor runs at 10,000 RPM 馃槻

That's why the electronics are involved! 馃榿

No, I'm the Jim of the watch world! One of them anyway 馃榿

The belts are from commercial sewing machines and have no stretch like the rubber ones it came with. I'll see how they run and let you know if they're any good.
There's heaps of them on eBay and I also have a contact if you need some.
