JLC- MUT or MC Date?

I know this has been debated before, but I’m struggling with this one. Trying to decide between the new MUT and MC date. Both have updated movements and both are classics. Clearly the MUT is dressier, but I would wear both with both casual (jeans / Ts) and formal attire. Posting some pics of the two watches on my wrist and some pros /cons below.

MUT pros: moonphase, moonphase, moonphase! Classic, beautiful design….simply elegant.
Cons: price vs the MC (not a deal breaker). Borderline too dressy for casual wear.

MC date:
Pros: simple, classic 3 hander with date. Understated elegance. Versatile: equally comfortable in casual or formal settings. A bit sportier than MUT (a huge plus since I’m mostly a jeans/t shirt guy)
Cons: too simple / plain?

I’m partial to moon phase so MUT. Can’t go wrong with either though. Both dress down nicely… you really can’t miss with JLC.

I'd take the moon dial every day of the week, and twice on Sunday

Moon for me.

Is that date on the MC misaligned, or is it just the angle of the photo?

Probably just the photo

MUT for looks, however if you do not wear it all the time setting the moonphase and pointer date every time before you wear it takes longer.
I am partial to the MC date more because it is a less complicated watch, and easier to set it and go on about your date.
in my earlier days of collecting I would have chosen it, in my present state of collecting I do not even want a date as I am too lazy to set it for the weekend use that most of my watches get (yet most of mine do have dates, go figure).

Moon phase is something I love to look at and think about...but don't really have any function beyond the curiosity. I'd go with the MC...so much cleaner.

I would go with the MC Date, i like it more and it fits better as an everyday watch.
Although i am not sure i am a fan of 40mm size. My old 37mm version was spot on for my 7inch wrist and way cheaper then the new ones.
There are good deals on MC Date.

Btw, you may be able to order a bracelet for the new MC Date as well.

I would prefer MUT, very nicely executed moon phase - date complications.

I own the MUTM. It's a no brainer. Fantastic watch.

Edited my post, I meant the date window on the MC date, not the MUT.

I would prefer the MC date.

For moonphase, I prefer the master calendar, especially the older 37mm ones.

I've fallen in love with this watch in 18k. Was in the JLC boutique to get a new strap for my Reverso and fell in love with their round watches, especially the Master Ultra Thin. I've already put up two of my Rolexes and two Omegas for sale.

Still no decision. Went back today to try them both on again. Leaning MUT

I realize that the moon phase is irresistable...but the date is what you will miss on a daily basis.

I love that JLC MUT, and really hope that one day I will own one. The MC date is OK, beautiful, elegant, simple and well made but I don't have the desire to own one in the same way I do the moonphase.

MC for me.
I’m a less is more man - simple elegance.
I’m afraid I think that the MUT is gimmicky - but then I don’t even care for sub-dials, cyclops crystals and bling things generally.
